Civil rights act of 1964

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964

The civil rights act of 1964 outlawed discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or nationality. It put an end to unequal voter registration and racial segregation in schools, workplaces, and in public places like bathrooms.

I do believe that there are still some places across the south were an employer may choose not to higher a black person just because they are black.

It is kinda hard for something to be done about this issue because if someone owns their own company no one is really allowed to tell them who they can and can't higher.

I found the movie very interesting. It was very interesting to see the brutality that the police used on the black people. I had no idea that there were so many very young children in the march. It was very sad to see them getting hit with the fire hose.

Factory fires

Today I learned a lot about a few factory fires that occurred during 1916-1917. factory fires during this time were very common. The factory fires during this time were a lot more deadly than fires now. during this time the fires would catch and spread very quickly killing and injuring many people. Now when a factory catches fire it is not as deadly. There was not any specific type of factory that burned more than others. there were anything from candy factories to ammunition factories. Almost all of the fires that started in one building would spread to a few more buildings before being put out.
